Teaching Assistant:  Denise Burridge

We feel that a strength of our school is the way our older children are prepared to support and care for the younger ones, and how our younger children enthuse the older years to achieve their best. We aim to build a caring classroom where children from Y3 –Y6 feel safe and respected and are prepared to ‘have-a-go’, knowing they learn from their mistakes. Children’s learning groups change according to the tasks they are doing but all children are encouraged to become independent learners.

A representative from each year, along with a representative from Taw class, is elected to the school council each term. They have the responsibility for organising fund-raising events for our sponsored child in Haiti and for other charities.

Members in Year 6 are invited to become a School Ambassador. As such they are expected to set examples of good behaviour and have the responsibility of helping younger children at playtime and to oversee the use of playtime equipment.
